Ice dams were a big issue last winter and we received several calls to help our clients with them. Occasionally the ice dams can be taken care of by melting them away. That is fine as long as they don’t keep coming back, but when they keep showing up, it usually means there is an issue with your roof insulation system. Coming up towards the end of the month, we are going to be solving this problem for a client by removing the affected area of their roof and insulating it correctly. In addition we will be slightly modifying the roof structure to help keep snow and ice from building up in the first place.
